The main difference between a diaphragm filter press and an ordinary chamber filter press is that the diaphragm is equipped with two layers of elastic membranes on both sides. During operation, high pressure fluid medium can be injected into the diaphragm. When the cake fills the entire chamber, the machine stops filtering and then fills the filter plate with expanding material (such as water or air). At this time, the whole diaphragm will bulge, so that the pressure acts on the filter cake, and with the increasing pressure, the liquid in the cake that can pass through the filter cloth will be pressed out, so as to realise the secondary dewatering of the filter cake, and to make the moisture content of the cake lower.
