Belt Movement: The permeable belt, made of materials like polyester, moves continuously in a loop. It travels through several zones of the gravity belt thickener, each serving a specific purpose.
Drainage Zone: As the sludge sits on the belt, water or filtrate starts to drain through the belt's pores under the influence of gravity. The sludge solids gradually accumulate on the belt's surface, forming a layer. The drainage zone allows for the separation of water from the sludge.
